A speech is a message. It has one clear purpose. Speeches may be informative, entertaining or aim to persuade. Some speeches are tailored to special occasions and pay tribute to a person or organisation.
Speeches come out of inspired moments of perception on a topic. The informative speech could be structured around proposing a particular view on a topic, while the entertaining speech could be structured around a particular aspect of human life. If the aim is to get the audience laughing a funny personal anecdote is a good place to start.
